RHSA-2026:94802
Vulnerability from csaf_redhat - Published: 2026-11-04 00:36 - Updated: 2026-11-06 07:51A flaw was found in curl. The libcurl library, used for transferring data with URLs, could improperly reuse existing network connections. This occurred even when changes to mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS) settings, particularly those for client certificates, should have prevented such reuse. This issue could lead to a security feature bypass, where a client might use a connection with an unintended or weaker security configuration, potentially compromising the integrity or confidentiality of data.

A flaw was found in Python. A race condition during the cleanup of temporary directories allows a local attacker with write access to replace a directory with a symbolic link (a reference pointing to another location). This can lead to unauthorized deletion or alteration of files outside the temporary directory, performed with the privileges of the process executing the cleanup.
A flaw was found in Python. A remote, unauthenticated TLS client can cause a use-after-free in a server that uses SSLContext.sni_callback to assign a different SSLSocket.context when selecting a certificate per server name, if nothing else keeps the original SSLContext alive. This can crash the server process or result in a call through a freed pointer. Servers that wrap their listening socket with a long-lived SSLContext are not affected. TLS clients are not affected.
A flaw was found in Python. When establishing secure connections using the SSLContext.wrap_bio() function with hostname checking enabled, the module fails to validate that a target server hostname is supplied. Because of this missing check, certificate hostname verification is silently skipped rather than triggering an error. A remote man-in-the-middle attacker could exploit this defect to spoof trusted endpoints and intercept or tamper with sensitive encrypted traffic.
A flaw was found in XZ Utils. When the `lzma_index_decoder()` function processes an empty index, and a subsequent `lzma_index_append()` operation is performed, insufficient memory is allocated. This can lead to a buffer overflow, potentially causing a denial of service (DoS) for affected systems.
A flaw was found in OpenSSH. The internal-sftp component within sshd incorrectly processes command-line arguments, recognizing only the first nine. This limitation can prevent the application of intended security configurations for SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) connections, potentially leading to a bypass of security properties.

A flaw was found in OpenSSH. The sshd component has an undocumented security-relevant behavior where GSSAPIStrictAcceptorCheck has no value when the server is in a Windows Active Directory environment. This could lead to unintended information disclosure and impact data integrity.
A flaw was found in OpenSSH's Secure Shell Daemon (sshd). This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by initiating an excessive number of authentication attempts. The issue arises from the mishandling of the MaxAuthTries setting specifically when using GSSAPIAuthentication, leading to resource exhaustion.
A flaw was found in expat. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability through repeated parse buffer operations with unvalidated buffer lengths, causing a heap buffer over-read. This issue primarily leads to information disclosure by leaking adjacent heap memory contents, which could assist in bypassing security mitigations such as Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR), or result in a Denial of Service (DoS) by crashing the application.
A flaw was found in libX11. A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists during the handling of XkbGetMap replies. A remote attacker, by operating a malicious X server, could exploit this flaw to potentially execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service on the client system. User interaction is required for exploitation.

A flaw was found in urllib3. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker on the network to intercept and alter data transmitted through an HTTPS proxy. The issue occurs when target-server Transport Layer Security (TLS) settings inadvertently overwrite the proxy's TLS configuration, which can disable certificate verification on reused connection contexts. Consequently, an attacker can impersonate the proxy to monitor or modify forwarded traffic or capture client credentials.
A flaw was found in urllib3. This flaw allows a Denial of Service (DoS) through unbounded memory allocation when parsing chunk-encoded responses. A malicious server can send an excessively long chunk-size line without a newline, exhausting client memory and terminating the application.
A flaw was found in expat. On 32-bit systems, an integer overflow occurs within the expat_realloc memory allocation function when calculating buffer sizes. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by supplying specially crafted XML input to an application that processes data with the library. Successful exploitation can lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) or memory corruption.
A flaw was found in the Google Brotli decoder. An out-of-bounds write in the block-type switch handling in c/dec/decode.c can be triggered by a crafted Brotli-compressed stream. When an application decompresses untrusted Brotli data, this can lead to memory disclosure, denial of service, or potentially arbitrary code execution.
A flaw was found in Django REST framework. This vulnerability allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by exhausting server memory. The issue occurs because the JSON parser accepts arbitrary client-supplied charset encodings, including decompression codecs, rather than restricting input to text encodings. By sending a crafted, compressed request, an attacker can bypass request size limits and trigger excessive memory allocation during parsing.
A flaw was found in Django REST Framework. When an application attempts to revoke authentication credentials using the TokenProxy component, the deletion query targets an incorrect identifier, causing the deletion to silently fail without raising an error. Consequently, revoked credentials remain active, allowing an unauthorized user to retain persistent access to protected application programming interfaces (APIs).
A flaw was found in djangorestframework. An unauthenticated remote attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending HTTP requests with a specially crafted Accept header containing an excessive number of media types with complex parameters. Because the framework performs unbounded and repetitive parsing of these header tokens across available renderers, processing such requests consumes disproportionate CPU resources. This can exhaust application worker processes and render the API service unavailable to legitimate users.
The system certificate authority (CA) store in Red Hat products, distributed via ca-certificates RPM packages, included multiple root CA certificates of authorities, which signed intermediate CA certificates with weak private keys issued by the eMudhra certificate authority. A man-in-the-middle attacker could use this flaw to issue certificates for arbitrary host names signed by the weak intermediate CA certificates, which would be considered trusted by a TLS/SSL client using system CA store and cause such clients to connect to malicious sites. Due to inability to only distrust specific intermediate certificates in all clients using the system CA store, root CA certificates of authorities that signed weak intermediate CA certificates are being removed.
A flaw was found in oauthlib. In certain token grant flows, the authorization system can authenticate an incoming client while retaining a different, client-supplied identifier for permission and scope validation. A remote, authenticated attacker with lower privileges can exploit this inconsistency by submitting another client's identifier during token requests. This flaw leads to privilege escalation, potentially allowing the attacker to obtain access tokens with unauthorized permissions and scopes associated with another client.

A remote unauthenticated client can trigger a server-side use-after-free when SNI callback code switches SSLSocket.context and drops the last reference to the original SSLContext, which can crash the process or call through a freed pointer (C:H/I:H/A:H). It is not Critical: exploitation requires a specific, non-default server pattern (per-connection or replaced SSLContext with sni_callback); the common pattern of wrapping the listening socket is explicitly not affected, so Attack Complexity is High. Red Hat ASLR, NX, and glibc heap hardening raise the bar for reliable code execution from the UAF but do not remove the crash/DoS impact, so Availability remains High.",

"text": "A flaw of moderate impact was found in the expat XML parser library (libexpat), which is shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora. On 32-bit systems, an integer overflow can occur in the expat_realloc() memory allocation function when buffer sizes are calculated, resulting in an undersized heap allocation that can lead to a heap buffer overflow, memory corruption, or a crash. A remote attacker can supply specially crafted XML input to an application that processes data with the vulnerable library, causing a denial of service of that application; no privileges or user interaction are required, but exploitation is limited to 32-bit platforms and requires triggering specific allocation sizes, so attack complexity is high.\n\nRed Hat Product Security rates this flaw Moderate (CVSS 3.1 score 5.9, AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H), which differs from the upstream CVSS 4.0 rating of Important (8.2) because the vulnerability is restricted to 32-bit architectures with high attack complexity and its impact is limited to availability.\n\nAffected expat and mingw-expat components span Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 through 10, Red Hat In-Vehicle OS, Red Hat Hardened Images, and Fedora. For Red Hat Enterprise Linux and UBI-related streams, fixes are being pursued through delegated updates. For several maintenance streams the fix is deferred because the flaw is Moderate severity with a CVSS score below 7.0, leaving a residual risk of denial of service or memory corruption on 32-bit deployments until a fix is delivered. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and certain platform streams are out of support scope and will not be fixed. The expat package in Red Hat Hardened Images (Hummingbird) is not affected because the vulnerable code is not present.",

"text": "This issue is rated Important. Exploitation requires that the target decompress attacker-controlled Brotli data (for example HTTP content negotiated with Content-Encoding: br, or APIs such as Node.js zlib / fetch() that decode Brotli). The vulnerable path is reached with a malformed stream rather than typical well-formed encoder output. Red Hat Enterprise Linux compiler and runtime hardenings - including Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR), Non-eXecutable (NX) memory, FORTIFY_SOURCE, and SELinux - increase the difficulty of turning this memory corruption into reliable code execution, though they do not eliminate crashes or all impact. Combined with the Attack Requirements noted by the CNA (CVSS v4 AT:P), Red Hat scores Attack Complexity as High and rates the flaw Important rather than Critical.\n\n---\n\nThe Node.js packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux use either system version of brotli or bundled version. Some Node.js versions are marked \"Not affected\" because they utilize system brotli. For these versions, the Node.js package itself does not require updating. However, customers must still update the system brotli/libbrotli package to address the vulnerability for these Node.js installations.\n\nFollowing is the overview of Node.js versions use system or bundled version.\n\n- Node.js 22 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9, provided via nodejs:22 module, uses system brotli.\n- Node.js 24 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9, provided via nodejs:24 modules, use bundled brotli.\n- Node.js 22 and 24 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, provided via nodejs22 and nodejs24 use system brotli.\n\n---\n\nThe .NET packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux may either use system version of brotli or bundled version. How durations are calculated
Following the VTEM framework (Black Hat USA 2015), time to patch starts when the vendor or a coordinator was informed, total time to patch at discovery, and disclosure to patch at public disclosure; vendor response time runs from the report to its acknowledgement. Time to exploit and time unpatched start at the earliest discovery or report, falling back to public disclosure. Unpatched time ends at the first recorded patch, or the calculation time when no patch is recorded. Exploitation to patch shows the interval between those two events; a published proof of concept is a public exploit, not exploitation.
Each result shows its source dates. A negative interval means the end event came first; when date-only inputs leave the order open, the result says so. Date-only inputs are approximate. The earliest evidence wins: KEV report dates and sightings are labelled as such. Records describing another vulnerability are listed but never calculated from, and a PoC alone does not establish exploitation. Missing patch evidence does not prove that no patch exists. Filters below change the event list only.

Related by attack behaviour
Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
