    Title
Home Assistant: iOS Companion App ignores internal SSID allowlist for connections – possible leak of access token and sensor data
    Summary
Home Assistant is open source home automation software that puts local control and privacy first. Prior to 2025.5.0, The iOS companion app ignores the SSID allowlist for internal networks. The app uses SSID to detect when to use the internal URL, but whenever the app cannot find any other URL to be used, it fallbacks to the internal URL as well, which can expose user's token when connected to a not secure network. This vulnerability is fixed in 2025.5.0.

    Title
Home Assistant: Exported BroadcastReceiver allows local apps to spoof device location
    Summary
Home Assistant is open source home automation software that puts local control and privacy first. Prior to 2026.5.3, the LocationSensorManager BroadcastReceiver is exported with no permission. Any installed app, with zero runtime permissions, can broadcast a forged Google Play Services LocationResult directly to it; the receiver trusts the extra and forwards it to the user's Home Assistant server as the device's real location. This bypasses Android's developer-mode "Mock Location" gate and allows a local malicious app to drive zone-based automations (unlock door / disarm alarm / open garage) by faking the user's GPS position. This vulnerability is fixed in 2026.5.3.

    Title
Home Assistant: Konnected alarm-panel switch state and zone topology disclosed to unauthenticated actors on the LAN
    Summary
Home Assistant is open source home automation software that puts local control and privacy first. Prior to 2026.6.0, the Konnected integration registers an HTTP endpoint, KonnectedView (homeassistant/components/konnected/__init__.py), that is marked as not requiring authentication (requires_auth = False). A comment next to that line says auth is instead handled "via the access token from configuration." That promise is only half true. Write requests (POST and PUT) are handled by update_sensor(), which does check the request's Authorization: Bearer <token> header against the integration's stored access tokens (using hmac.compare_digest). Read requests (GET) are handled by a separate get() method that has no authentication check at all. This vulnerability is fixed in 2026.6.0.

    Title
Home Assistant: Cross-origin iframe access token exfiltration via WebView JS bridge callback injection
    Summary
Home Assistant is open source home automation software that puts local control and privacy first. Prior to 2026.4.1 for iOS and 2026.4.4 for Android, he Home Assistant Companion apps for Android and iOS expose a JavaScript bridge to the in-app WebView window.externalApp on Android and webkit.messageHandlers.getExternalAuth (alongside revokeExternalAuth and externalBus) on iOS. Two flaws expose the bridge to all frames (including cross-origin iframes) and unsanitized interpolation of the JavaScript callback identifier allows a cross-origin iframe rendered inside the Companion app to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the Home Assistant frontend's main-frame origin and exfiltrate the signed-in user's access token. This vulnerability is fixed in 2026.4.1 for iOS and 2026.4.4 for Android.

    Title
Home Assistant Community Store 1.10.0 Path Traversal Account Takeover
    Summary
Home Assistant Community Store (HACS) prior to 1.10.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read sensitive files by traversing directories via the /hacsfiles/ endpoint. Attackers can retrieve the .storage/auth file containing user credentials and refresh tokens, then craft valid JWT tokens to gain administrative access to Home Assistant instances.

    Title
Home Assistant: Unauthenticated App (Add-on) Endpoints Exposed to Local Network via Host Network Mode
    Summary
Home Assistant is open source home automation software that puts local control and privacy first. Home Assistant apps (formerly add-ons) configured with host network mode expose unauthenticated endpoints bound to the internal Docker bridge interface to the local network. On Linux, this configuration does not restrict access to the app as intended, allowing any device on the same network to reach these endpoints without authentication. Home Assistant Supervisor 2026.03.02 addresses the issue.

    Title
Home Assistant has stored XSS in Map-card through malicious device name
    Summary
Home Assistant is open source home automation software that puts local control and privacy first. Starting in version 2020.02 and prior to version 2026.01, an authenticated party can add a malicious name to their device entity, allowing for Cross-Site Scripting attacks against anyone who can see a dashboard with a Map-card which includes that entity. It requires that the victim hovers over an information point. Version 2026.01 fixes the issue.

    Title
Home Assistant vulnerable to Stored XSS in Energy dashboard from Energy Entity Name
    Summary
Home Assistant is open source home automation software that puts local control and privacy first. In versions 2025.1.0 through 2025.10.1, the energy dashboard is vulnerable to stored cross-site scripting. An authenticated user can inject malicious JavaScript code into an energy entity's name field, which is then executed when any user hovers over data points in the energy dashboard graph tooltips. The vulnerability exists because entity names containing HTML are not properly sanitized before being rendered in graph tooltips. This could allow an attacker with authentication to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the context of other users' sessions. Additionally, if an energy provider (such as Tibber) supplies a malicious default name for an entity, the vulnerability can be exploited without direct user action when the default name is used. This issue has been patched in version 2025.10.2. No known workarounds exist.

    Title
SSL validation for outgoing requests in Home Assistant Core and used libs not correct
    Summary
Home Assistant Core is an open source home automation that puts local control and privacy first. Affected versions are subject to a potential man-in-the-middle attacks due to missing SSL certificate verification in the project codebase and used third-party libraries. In the past, `aiohttp-session`/`request` had the parameter `verify_ssl` to control SSL certificate verification. This was a boolean value. In `aiohttp` 3.0, this parameter was deprecated in favor of the `ssl` parameter. Only when `ssl` is set to `None` or provided with a correct configured SSL context the standard SSL certificate verification will happen. When migrating integrations in Home Assistant and libraries used by Home Assistant, in some cases the `verify_ssl` parameter value was just moved to the new `ssl` parameter. This resulted in these integrations and 3rd party libraries using `request.ssl = True`, which unintentionally turned off SSL certificate verification and opened up a man-in-the-middle attack vector. This issue has been addressed in version 2024.1.6 and all users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2023-12-15 02:05 – Updated: 2024-08-02 22:16

    Title
User accounts disclosed to unauthenticated actors on the LAN
    Summary
Home Assistant is open source home automation software. Prior to version 2023.12.3, the login page discloses all active user accounts to any unauthenticated browsing request originating on the Local Area Network. Version 2023.12.3 contains a patch for this issue. When starting the Home Assistant 2023.12 release, the login page returns all currently active user accounts to browsing requests from the Local Area Network. Tests showed that this occurs when the request is not authenticated and the request originated locally, meaning on the Home Assistant host local subnet or any other private subnet. The rationale behind this is to make the login more user-friendly and an experience better aligned with other applications that have multiple user-profiles. However, as a result, all accounts are displayed regardless of them having logged in or not and for any device that navigates to the server. This disclosure is mitigated by the fact that it only occurs for requests originating from a LAN address. But note that this applies to the local subnet where Home Assistant resides and to any private subnet that can reach it.

Prior to version 2023.12.3, the login page discloses all active user accounts to any unauthenticated browsing request originating on the Local Area Network. Version 2023.12.3 contains a patch for this issue.\n\nWhen starting the Home Assistant 2023.12 release, the login page returns all currently active user accounts to browsing requests from the Local Area Network. Tests showed that this occurs when the request is not authenticated and the request originated locally, meaning on the Home Assistant host local subnet or any other private subnet. The rationale behind this is to make the login more user-friendly and an experience better aligned with other applications that have multiple user-profiles.\n\nHowever, as a result, all accounts are displayed regardless of them having logged in or not and for any device that navigates to the server. This disclosure is mitigated by the fact that it only occurs for requests originating from a LAN address. But note that this applies to the local subnet where Home Assistant resides and to any private subnet that can reach it."

    Title
Local-only webhooks externally accessible via SniTun in Home Assistant Core
    Summary
Home assistant is an open source home automation. The assessment verified that webhooks available in the webhook component are triggerable via the `*.ui.nabu.casa` URL without authentication, even when the webhook is marked as Only accessible from the local network. This issue is facilitated by the SniTun proxy, which sets the source address to 127.0.0.1 on all requests sent to the public URL and forwarded to the local Home Assistant. This issue has been addressed in version 2023.9.0 and all users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

    Title
Account takeover via auth_callback login in Home Assistant Core
    Summary
Home assistant is an open source home automation. The audit team’s analyses confirmed that the `redirect_uri` and `client_id` are alterable when logging in. Consequently, the code parameter utilized to fetch the `access_token` post-authentication will be sent to the URL specified in the aforementioned parameters. Since an arbitrary URL is permitted and `homeassistant.local` represents the preferred, default domain likely used and trusted by many users, an attacker could leverage this weakness to manipulate a user and retrieve account access. Notably, this attack strategy is plausible if the victim has exposed their Home Assistant to the Internet, since after acquiring the victim’s `access_token` the adversary would need to utilize it directly towards the instance to achieve any pertinent malicious actions. To achieve this compromise attempt, the attacker must send a link with a `redirect_uri` that they control to the victim’s own Home Assistant instance. In the eventuality the victim authenticates via said link, the attacker would obtain code sent to the specified URL in `redirect_uri`, which can then be leveraged to fetch an `access_token`. Pertinently, an attacker could increase the efficacy of this strategy by registering a near identical domain to `homeassistant.local`, which at first glance may appear legitimate and thereby obfuscate any malicious intentions. This issue has been addressed in version 2023.9.0 and all users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

"value": "Home assistant is an open source home automation. The audit team\u2019s analyses confirmed that the `redirect_uri` and `client_id` are alterable when logging in. Notably, this attack strategy is plausible if the victim has exposed their Home Assistant to the Internet, since after acquiring the victim\u2019s `access_token` the adversary would need to utilize it directly towards the instance to achieve any pertinent malicious actions. To achieve this compromise attempt, the attacker must send a link with a `redirect_uri` that they control to the victim\u2019s own Home Assistant instance. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability."

    CVE-2026-54317 (GCVE-0-2026-54317)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-06-23 17:39 – Updated: 2026-06-26 19:00
    VLAI

There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability."

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2023-10-19 23:27 – Updated: 2024-09-12 15:02
