Title
Apache Storm Nimbus, Apache Storm Client: Disclosure of the Topology ZooKeeper Credential to Read-Only Users and to Logs
Summary
Description When ZooKeeper authentication is configured, Storm deliberately retains `storm.zookeeper.topology.auth.payload` in the topology configuration, because workers need it. Nimbus then served that configuration verbatim to any caller holding read-only topology permissions, so a user whose only grant was the ability to view a topology received its ZooKeeper credential. That credential is not read-only. The cluster state implementation uses write-capable ACLs for worker heartbeats, backpressure and error state, so a recipient can forge or remove that state for the topology concerned. It is not a write credential on assignments. The same advisory covers the submission client, which logged the generated payload at INFO on every submission that generated one, and the SASL handlers, which logged it at DEBUG. The credential therefore also reached any log aggregation or support bundle collected from the cluster. Mitigation Upgrade to 3.1.0, where the payload is removed from the configuration served to read-only callers and is no longer written to logs. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should rotate `storm.zookeeper.topology.auth.payload` for existing topologies, review retained logs and support bundles for the value, and restrict read-only topology permissions to trusted principals. Credit The ASF -- found using Claude agents to study the security of open-source projects, validated and reported by Apache Storm.

Title
Apache Storm Nimbus, Apache Storm UI: Disclosure of Unredacted Daemon Configuration via Nimbus and the UI
Summary
Description `getNimbusConf` returned the complete daemon configuration without redaction after only a user-level authorization check. Where the cluster is configured with them, that response includes `storm.zookeeper.auth.payload` and the keystore and truststore passwords for the Thrift, Netty and ZooKeeper TLS configuration. The project masks passwords elsewhere before display, so the omission here is inconsistent rather than intended. The UI endpoint `/api/v1/cluster/configuration` compounded this. It carried no `@AuthNimbusOp` annotation, and the authorization filter treated a missing annotation as "no gate required" and returned immediately, so the endpoint applied no per-user check at all and proxied the request under the UI daemon's own principal. Any user able to pass `ui.filter` therefore received the full configuration, including principals that Nimbus itself would have refused.  Mitigation Upgrade to 3.1.0, where credential-bearing values are masked before the configuration is served and where every UI API endpoint must declare its authorization explicitly. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should place the UI behind an authenticating reverse proxy that restricts `/api/v1/cluster/configuration`, and should rotate the ZooKeeper authentication payload and any TLS keystore or truststore passwords that were reachable through it. Title
Stable Diffusion WebUI Credential Disclosure via /sdapi/v1/cmd-flags
Summary
Stable Diffusion WebUI through 1.10.1 contains a credential disclosure vulnerability in the /sdapi/v1/cmd-flags endpoint that returns parsed command-line arguments including gradio_auth and api_auth values in cleartext. Unauthenticated attackers can access this endpoint to retrieve configured usernames and passwords, then use them to authenticate to the interface and access the application.

Title
gitoxide 0.25.4 HTTP Credential Leak via Redirect
Summary
gitoxide versions from 0.25.4 contain an HTTP credential leak vulnerability in the curl-based transport backend where credentials are sent to attacker-controlled servers after HTTP redirects. The vulnerability occurs because credential validation checks the original URL instead of the effective URL after redirect, allowing attackers to steal authentication tokens through cross-domain redirects or HTTPS-to-HTTP downgrades.

Title
gitoxide before 0.37.1 HTTP Basic credential leak via URL parsing
Summary
gitoxide's gix-url crate (<= 0.32.0, fixed in 0.37.1) uses a hand-rolled URL parser that does not treat '?' or '#' as terminating the authority component, contrary to RFC 3986. As a consequence, gix-transport's HTTP redirect identity guard (can_reuse_identity) compares the wrong host and fails open. An attacker controlling a redirect response can craft a Location header of the form <attacker-authority>?@<original-authority> so that gitoxide sends the caller's HTTP Basic Authorization credentials to an unintended host. gix-transport is affected in versions <= 0.49.0 (fixed in 0.58.1).

Title
Insufficiently Protected Credentials in MongoDB Server Diagnostic Reporting Interface
Summary
A security issue in MongoDB Server's diagnostic reporting interface allows an authenticated user with monitoring privileges to access insufficiently protected credentials from concurrent administrative operations. The same credentials are properly redacted in server log output, but the diagnostic interface omits equivalent redaction. Successful exploitation requires a valid authenticated session with monitoring-level permissions and results in exposure of cleartext credentials that could enable impersonation of other users, including privileged accounts.

Title
RansomLook API Key Disclosure Through /admin/apikeys HTML Source
Summary
RansomLook exposed complete API keys in the HTML source of the authenticated /admin/apikeys administration page. Although the interface displayed only a shortened representation of each key, the full token was embedded in hidden form fields used by the enable/disable, private-access, and delete actions. As a result, API credentials could be recovered by inspecting the page source or DOM. The credentials could also be unintentionally exposed through components that retain or inspect HTTP response bodies, such as debugging proxies, browser caches, monitoring systems, or other intermediaries. An attacker obtaining one of these tokens could subsequently authenticate using the privileges assigned to that key, including access to private data where the key was granted such permissions. The patch removes API keys from subsequent page rendering and replaces them with SHA-256-derived opaque handles. Administrative actions submit only these handles, which are resolved back to the corresponding token on the server. The full API key is therefore disclosed only once, when it is initially created.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Use an appropriate security mechanism to protect the credentials.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Make appropriate use of cryptography to protect the credentials.

Mitigation
Implementation

Use industry standards to protect the credentials (e.g. LDAP, keystore, etc.).

CAPEC-102: Session Sidejacking

Session sidejacking takes advantage of an unencrypted communication channel between a victim and target system. The attacker sniffs traffic on a network looking for session tokens in unencrypted traffic. Once a session token is captured, the attacker performs malicious actions by using the stolen token with the targeted application to impersonate the victim. This attack is a specific method of session hijacking, which is exploiting a valid session token to gain unauthorized access to a target system or information. Other methods to perform a session hijacking are session fixation, cross-site scripting, or compromising a user or server machine and stealing the session token.

CAPEC-474: Signature Spoofing by Key Theft

An attacker obtains an authoritative or reputable signer's private signature key by theft and then uses this key to forge signatures from the original signer to mislead a victim into performing actions that benefit the attacker.

CAPEC-50: Password Recovery Exploitation

An attacker may take advantage of the application feature to help users recover their forgotten passwords in order to gain access into the system with the same privileges as the original user. Generally password recovery schemes tend to be weak and insecure.

CAPEC-509: Kerberoasting

Through the exploitation of how service accounts leverage Kerberos authentication with Service Principal Names (SPNs), the adversary obtains and subsequently cracks the hashed credentials of a service account target to exploit its privileges. The Kerberos authentication protocol centers around a ticketing system which is used to request/grant access to services and to then access the requested services. As an authenticated user, the adversary may request Active Directory and obtain a service ticket with portions encrypted via RC4 with the private key of the authenticated account. By extracting the local ticket and saving it disk, the adversary can brute force the hashed value to reveal the target account credentials.

CAPEC-551: Modify Existing Service

When an operating system starts, it also starts programs called services or daemons. Modifying existing services may break existing services or may enable services that are disabled/not commonly used.

CAPEC-555: Remote Services with Stolen Credentials

This pattern of attack involves an adversary that uses stolen credentials to leverage remote services such as RDP, telnet, SSH, and VNC to log into a system. Once access is gained, any number of malicious activities could be performed.

CAPEC-560: Use of Known Domain Credentials

An adversary guesses or obtains (i.e. steals or purchases) legitimate credentials (e.g. userID/password) to achieve authentication and to perform authorized actions under the guise of an authenticated user or service.

CAPEC-561: Windows Admin Shares with Stolen Credentials

An adversary guesses or obtains (i.e. steals or purchases) legitimate Windows administrator credentials (e.g. userID/password) to access Windows Admin Shares on a local machine or within a Windows domain.

CAPEC-600: Credential Stuffing

An adversary tries known username/password combinations against different systems, applications, or services to gain additional authenticated access. Credential Stuffing attacks rely upon the fact that many users leverage the same username/password combination for multiple systems, applications, and services.

CAPEC-644: Use of Captured Hashes (Pass The Hash)

An adversary obtains (i.e. steals or purchases) legitimate Windows domain credential hash values to access systems within the domain that leverage the Lan Man (LM) and/or NT Lan Man (NTLM) authentication protocols.

CAPEC-645: Use of Captured Tickets (Pass The Ticket)

An adversary uses stolen Kerberos tickets to access systems/resources that leverage the Kerberos authentication protocol. The Kerberos authentication protocol centers around a ticketing system which is used to request/grant access to services and to then access the requested services. An adversary can obtain any one of these tickets (e.g. Service Ticket, Ticket Granting Ticket, Silver Ticket, or Golden Ticket) to authenticate to a system/resource without needing the account's credentials. Depending on the ticket obtained, the adversary may be able to access a particular resource or generate TGTs for any account within an Active Directory Domain.

CAPEC-652: Use of Known Kerberos Credentials

An adversary obtains (i.e. steals or purchases) legitimate Kerberos credentials (e.g. Kerberos service account userID/password or Kerberos Tickets) with the goal of achieving authenticated access to additional systems, applications, or services within the domain.

CAPEC-653: Use of Known Operating System Credentials

An adversary guesses or obtains (i.e. steals or purchases) legitimate operating system credentials (e.g. userID/password) to achieve authentication and to perform authorized actions on the system, under the guise of an authenticated user or service. This applies to any Operating System.
