Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs Security Update
Severity
Important
Notes
Topic: An update for Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs is now available.
Details: This update includes the following RPMs: grafana13.1: * grafana13.1-13.1.6-0.5.hum1 (aarch64, x86_64) * grafana13.1-13.1.6-0.5.hum1.src (src) Security Fix(es): grafana13.1: * CVE-2026-93981

A flaw was found in Grafana. A user with an Editor role can exploit a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Geomap panel. This occurs because the Geomap panel loads map styles from a URL and inserts the style's attribution field into the page without proper sanitization. By controlling the map style, an attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the browser of anyone viewing the dashboard. If an Organization Administrator views the dashboard, the attacker's script can elevate their own account to Organization Administrator, leading to privilege escalation and unauthorized access to organizational dashboards, data source configurations, and credentials.

Threats
Impact Important

A flaw was found in Grafana. The application fails to verify creation permissions on destination folders during panel update operations. An authenticated user with edit permissions in one folder can exploit this vulnerability through the library elements API to move a library panel into a folder where they only possess view permissions. This allows an unauthorized user to bypass access controls and place content into restricted folders.

CWE-639 - Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key
Affected products
Fixed 3 products, the same list as for CVE-2026-76154
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in hono/jsx. This vulnerability occurs because the software fails to properly escape plain strings when they are rendered in certain contexts during server-side rendering. A remote attacker can exploit this by providing specially crafted input, leading to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS). This allows the attacker to inject malicious code into web pages viewed by other users, potentially compromising user sessions or defacing the website.

Related by attack behaviour

Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
