In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

xfrm: espintcp: do not reuse an in-progress partial send

espintcp keeps a single in-flight transmit in ctx->partial.
Before building a new sk_msg, espintcp_sendmsg() first tries to flush
that state through espintcp_push_msgs().

For blocking callers, espintcp_push_msgs() may return success even when
the previous partial send is still pending. espintcp_sendmsg() would
then reinitialize emsg->skmsg and reuse ctx->partial while the old
transfer still owns that state.

Do not rebuild the send message when ctx->partial is still in progress.
If espintcp_push_msgs() returns with emsg->len still set, fail the new
send instead of overwriting the live partial state.

This is a memory-safety fix: reusing the live partial-send state can
leave a stale offset attached to a new sk_msg and lead to an out-of-
bounds read in the send path.

tcp_sendmsg_locked() already handles waiting for send buffer memory, so
the fix here is just to preserve espintcp's one-message-at-a-time
transmit state.
en
AV:L - The vulnerable code is reached through local socket syscalls: an attacker creates/uses a TCP socket, sets `TCP_ULP` to `espintcp`, and calls send/sendmsg. It is not directly triggerable by unauthenticated network packets alone.
AC:L - The attacker can create the needed partial-send condition by controlling the TCP peer or receiver behavior and filling the send buffer, then issuing another send. No race or condition outside attacker control is required.
PR:L - Setting an already-registered TCP ULP does not require CAP_NET_ADMIN, and ordinary local users can create TCP sockets and call setsockopt/sendmsg. XFRM administration is privileged, but it is not required for this lowest-privilege path to `espintcp_sendmsg`.
UI:N - Exploitation does not require any victim user action after the attacker has local code execution. The attacker directly drives the socket operations.
S:U - The impact remains within the kernel and its managed resources on the same host. This is not a VM escape, IOMMU bypass, or cross-authority boundary violation.
C:H - The stale partial-send offset can produce an out-of-bounds read in the TCP send path, potentially exposing kernel memory through transmitted data. Because the read is not strictly bounded to a small fixed disclosure, high confidentiality impact is appropriate.
I:H - The corrupted espintcp/sk_msg state can build invalid bvec/socket-buffer references and disturb page or send-buffer accounting, which is a plausible kernel memory integrity primitive. Under the required higher-severity rule for uncertainty, this is scored as high integrity impact.
A:H - The invalid scatterlist/bvec state can lead to kernel warnings, invalid page references, refcount/accounting corruption, or crashes in the send/cleanup path. A local attacker can repeat the trigger, so availability impact is high."

A malicious USB device, when plugged into a host running this driver, can exploit a heap overflow vulnerability in the `get_manuf_info()` function. This occurs because the driver does not properly validate the size of data read from the device's I2C EEPROM against the allocated memory buffer. This improper validation can lead to out-of-bounds memory writes, potentially allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a system crash (Denial of Service).
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

sctp: stop processing a packet once its association is deleted

sctp_endpoint_bh_rcv() looks the association up only when chunk->asoc is
NULL, and caches the result in chunk->asoc and chunk->transport without
taking a reference.

A packet that matches no association is handed to the endpoint, so a peer
can bundle COOKIE ECHO, SHUTDOWN and SHUTDOWN ACK in one packet. The
COOKIE ECHO creates the association, the SHUTDOWN chunk caches it, and
with the outqueue empty the SHUTDOWN ACK reaches sctp_sf_do_9_2_final(),
so the association and its transports are freed.

The endpoint loop has no counterpart to the asoc->base.dead check in
sctp_assoc_bh_rcv(). The next chunk writes to last_time_heard in the freed
transport and is then passed to sctp_do_sm() with the freed association.
The transport is freed through RCU, so this needs the packet to come off
the socket backlog, where the loop runs in task context.

The endpoint loop cannot do the same check: it holds no reference on the
association, so reading asoc->base.dead would itself be a use-after-free.
Mark the packet for discard in the command interpreter, just before it
deletes the association. That is also before sctp_inq_free() releases the
chunk on the association receive path.

sctp_sf_do_5_2_4_dupcook() issues SCTP_CMD_DELETE_TCB for the temporary
association, while the one the packet belongs to stays alive. A restarting
peer can bundle DATA behind its COOKIE ECHO, so compare against
chunk->asoc and leave that case alone."

Setup is local NETLINK_NETFILTER nfulnl_recv_config (NFULNL_CFG_CMD_PF_BIND); no remote protocol message carries the bug.
AC:L - The attacker PF_BINDs nfulnl_logger through nfulnl_recv_config, generates packets that enter nf_log_packet() (conntrack nf_l4proto_log_invalid() while those hooks still exist, or NFLOG), and drops the netns so cleanup_net() races nfnl_log_net_exit()/ops_free_list() against that reader; both sides are attacker-controlled.
PR:L - nfnetlink_rcv() requires CAP_NET_ADMIN via netlink_net_capable() in sock_net(skb->sk)->user_ns before nfulnl_recv_config can bind the logger; an unprivileged user obtains that capability in a user+net namespace (unshare -Urn).
UI:N - The attacker issues nfulnl_recv_config, injects the logged packets, and destroys their own netns; no victim mount, file open, or other interaction is required.
S:U - The slab UAF of struct nfnl_log_net inside nfulnl_log_packet()/instance_lookup_get_rcu() is host-kernel memory corruption in the same kernel authority, not a VM escape or IOMMU/DMA bypass.
C:H - After ops_free_list() kfree()s the per-net object, nfulnl_log_packet() still calls nfnl_log_pernet() and instance_lookup_get_rcu() walks the freed instance_table hlist, a slab UAF that can be reclaimed for arbitrary kernel reads.
I:H - Use-after-free of nfnl_log_net's instance_table and the resulting nfulnl_instance pointer chase (hlist, inst->lock, inst->skb) is a heap UAF write primitive that can hijack control flow.
A:H - instance_lookup_get_rcu()/nfulnl_log_packet() dereferencing the freed nfnl_log_net can oops or panic the kernel even when the UAF is not turned into a full exploit.
AV:L - The buggy kfree of event->addr_filter_ranges is in __free_event(), reached from close(2) via perf_release() → perf_event_release_kernel() → put_event() → _free_event(). The concurrent use is a local mmap(2)/exec that hits perf_event_mmap()/perf_event_exec() → perf_iterate_ctx(). No remote protocol supplies the triggering state.
AC:L - The attacker sets attr.inherit, opens an intel_pt/cs_etm event, issues PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_FILTER, then forks/clones. close() on the parent fd kfree's the child's addr_filter_ranges in __free_event() while the child mmap()s a VM_EXEC mapping so __perf_addr_filters_adjust() writes the freed array. Both sides are attacker-driven.
PR:L - Default perf_event_paranoid=2 still allows an unprivileged per-task intel_pt or cs_etm event with exclude_kernel set; pt_event_init() and etm_event_init() have no capable() check, and find_get_context() calls perf_allow_cpu() only for pid==-1. PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_FILTER is then ioctl'd on that fd via perf_ioctl().
UI:N - The attacker performs sys_perf_event_open(), PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_FILTER, fork/clone, mmap() of the filtered file, and close() entirely in tasks they control. No separate victim must mount a filesystem or open a file.
S:U - The defect is a host-kernel heap UAF of event->addr_filter_ranges in kernel/events/core.c. Impact stays inside the kernel's own security authority and is not a KVM/Xen guest-to-host escape or IOMMU/DMA bypass.
C:H - __free_event() kfree's the kcalloc'd addr_filter_ranges array while RCU walkers still hold the event. Reclaiming that heap object, combined with pt_event_addr_filters_sync()/etm_addr_filters_sync() reading fr[range].start/size, yields a kernel read primitive.
I:H - __perf_addr_filters_adjust() and perf_event_addr_filters_exec() write attacker-influenced vma start/size into the already-freed addr_filter_ranges slots. That heap UAF write is sprayable into a control-flow hijack / arbitrary write.
A:H - Use-after-free of addr_filter_ranges while perf_iterate_ctx() still observes the event on ctx->event_list causes a kernel oops or panic when the freed slots are indexed or the reallocated object is corrupted.
AV:L - The freed ct is reached from nf_flow_offload_forward() (nf_ct_acct_update/flow_offload_teardown on flow->ct) but freeing it needs the conntrack killed (nf_ct_is_dying) and flow_offload_del() run; a remote peer only supplies forwarded packets and cannot kill an offloaded ct, so the full trigger needs local nftables/ctnetlink access.
AC:L - The attacker drives every side of the race: they flood packets through their own flowtable, delete the ct via ctnetlink, and force nf_flow_offload_gc_step()->flow_offload_del() at once by downing the veth (nf_flow_table_gc_cleanup flush_delayed_work). The window is narrow but can be retried indefinitely.
PR:L - Creating the nftables flowtable, adding veth forwarding and sending IPCTNL_MSG_CT_DELETE need only CAP_NET_ADMIN in a network namespace, which an unprivileged user gets via unshare -Urn.
UI:N - No victim action is needed; the attacker sets up the flowtable, the traffic and the conntrack/flow teardown entirely within their own namespace.
S:U - Memory corruption in the host kernel's netfilter flowtable/conntrack objects yields kernel privilege escalation within the same authority; no VM or hardware boundary is crossed.
C:H - flow_offload_free() dropped the ct reference before the RCU grace period, so in-flight readers dereference ct->ext after nf_conntrack_free() has kfree'd it, or a recycled SLAB_TYPESAFE_BY_RCU nf_conn now owned by another connection - a use-after-free that can be groomed to leak kernel memory.
I:H - The stale reader writes freed or reused memory: nf_ct_acct_add() does atomic64_add into the freed ct->ext counters, and flow_offload_teardown()/flow_offload_fixup_ct() modify status/timeout of a recycled conntrack, giving heap-corruption primitives.
A:H - The use-after-free on ct->ext and recycled nf_conn objects in the forwarding softirq can corrupt the slab and crash the kernel."
