Summary
The Geeky Bot plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Missing Authorization in versions up to, and including, 1.2.2. This is due to a nopriv AJAX route allowing attacker-controlled model/function dispatch and reaching a plugin installer helper that downloads and unzips attacker-supplied ZIP files into wp-content/plugins/. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to perform arbitrary plugin installation and achieve remote code execution.

Title
WP Books Gallery <= 4.8.0 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Settings Update via 'permalink_structure' Parameter
Summary
The HM Books Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Missing Authorization in versions up to and including 4.8.0. This is due to the absence of capability checks and nonce verification in the admin_init hook that handles the permalink settings update at line 205-209 of wp-books-gallery.php. The vulnerable code checks only for the presence of the 'permalink_structure' POST parameter before updating the 'wbg_cpt_slug' option, without verifying that the request comes from an authenticated administrator. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the custom post type slug for the books gallery, which changes the URL structure for all book entries and can break existing links and SEO rankings.

The LatePoint – Calendar Booking Plugin for Appointments and Events plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Improper Input Validation in all versions up to, and including, 5.4.0. This is due to the plugin's Stripe Connect payment processor accepting a client-supplied PaymentIntent ID. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to pay an arbitrary amount by supplying a previously succeeded PaymentIntent token.

Title
Sharp: Missing Authorization Check in Quick Creation Command Endpoints
Summary
Sharp is a content management framework built for Laravel as a package. From version 9.0.0 to before version 9.22.3, the create and store endpoints of the Quick Creation Command feature did not enforce any authorization check. An authenticated Sharp user without create permission on a given entity could bypass the authorization layer and either retrieve the creation form or submit new records for that entity, as long as it had a Quick Creation Command handler configured. This issue has been patched in version 9.22.3.

FOSSBilling missing authorization checks on read-only admin API endpoints expose sensitive staff, client, and redirect data
Summary
FOSSBilling is a free, open-source billing and client management system. Prior to version 0.8.0, low-privileged staff accounts may read sensitive data via admin API endpoints that lack permission checks. While sibling write endpoints correctly enforce fine-grained permissions, the corresponding read endpoints have no authorization guards. Version 0.8.0 contains a fix. Some workarounds are available. Restrict staff accounts to only those who need access to sensitive data and/or use a reverse proxy or WAF to restrict access to the affected endpoints.

FOSSBilling vulnerable to unauthenticated API key configuration disclosure via guest Serviceapikey get_info endpoint
Summary
FOSSBilling is a free, open-source billing and client management system. In versions 0.5.3 through 0.7.2, the Guest `serviceapikey/get_info` API endpoint is accessible without authentication. Any caller with a valid API key can retrieve all custom configuration parameters (`custom_*` fields) stored in the key's database record. These custom fields are populated by billing administrators and can contain business-sensitive data such as pricing tiers, feature flags, rate limits, expiry overrides, or access scope data. Version 0.8.0 patches the issue. Some workarounds are available. Administrators can avoid storing sensitive data in `custom_*` API key configuration fields, monitor API logs for suspicious calls to `/api/guest/serviceapikey/get_info`, and/or disable the Serviceapikey module if not in active use.

Summary
The MonsterInsights – Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress (Website Stats Made Easy) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access and modification of data due to a missing capability checks on the get_ads_access_token() and reset_experience() functions in all versions up to, and including, 10.1.2. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to retrieve live Google OAuth access tokens and reset Plugins's Google Ads integration.

Description:

  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.

CAPEC-665: Exploitation of Thunderbolt Protection Flaws

An adversary leverages a firmware weakness within the Thunderbolt protocol, on a computing device to manipulate Thunderbolt controller firmware in order to exploit vulnerabilities in the implementation of authorization and verification schemes within Thunderbolt protection mechanisms. Upon gaining physical access to a target device, the adversary conducts high-level firmware manipulation of the victim Thunderbolt controller SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) flash, through the use of a SPI Programing device and an external Thunderbolt device, typically as the target device is booting up. If successful, this allows the adversary to modify memory, subvert authentication mechanisms, spoof identities and content, and extract data and memory from the target device. Currently 7 major vulnerabilities exist within Thunderbolt protocol with 9 attack vectors as noted in the Execution Flow.
