CWE-918

Allowed

Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)

Abstraction: Base · Status: Incomplete

The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination.

Title
Docling: Unsafe Playwright-based HTML Rendering
Summary
Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. FIn versions >= 2.82.0, < 2.91.0, if the HTML backend was explicitly configured for rendering (rendering option by default deactivated), then the Playwright-based rendering feature could allow JavaScript execution and unrestricted network access when processing untrusted HTML documents. An attacker could craft malicious HTML that executes arbitrary JavaScript in the rendering context or makes unauthorized network requests to internal services, potentially leading to SSRF attacks, data exfiltration, or remote code execution in the rendering environment. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.91.0.

Title
Nginx UI: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via Cluster Proxy Middleware Allows Access to Internal Services
Summary
Nginx UI is a web user interface for the Nginx web server. In 2.3.4 and earlier, an authenticated user can perform Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) by creating a cluster node pointing to an arbitrary internal URL and then sending API requests with the X-Node-ID header. The Proxy middleware forwards these requests to the attacker-specified internal address, bypassing network segmentation and enabling access to services bound to localhost or internal networks.

Title
Flowise: SSRF Protection Bypass via Direct node-fetch / axios Usage (Patch Enforcement Failure)
Summary
Flowise is a drag & drop user interface to build a customized large language model flow. Prior to 3.1.0, multiple tool implementations directly import and invoke raw HTTP clients (node-fetch, axios) instead of using the secured wrapper. These tools include (1) OpenAPIToolkit/OpenAPIToolkit.ts, (2) WebScraperTool/WebScraperTool.ts, (3) MCP/core.ts, and (4) Arxiv/core.ts. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.1.0.

Title
JunoClaw: SSRF in WAVS computeDataVerify allows cloud-metadata and internal-service access
Summary
JunoClaw is an agentic AI platform built on Juno Network. Prior to 0.x.y-security-1, the WAVS bridge's computeDataVerify called fetch() on agent-supplied URLs without validating scheme, port, or resolved IP, resulting in an SSRF vulnerability. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.x.y-security-1.

Title
Tautulli vulnerable to unauthenticated SSRF in /image/<hash> via attacker-seeded image hash replay
Summary
Tautulli is a Python based monitoring and tracking tool for Plex Media Server. Versions prior to 2.17.1 expose a public `/image/<hash>` route that resolves attacker-controlled entries from `image_hash_lookup` and replays them through the same server-side image fetch logic used by authenticated image proxying. A low-privilege guest user can seed a malicious external image URL into this lookup table and then trigger server-side fetches through a fully unauthenticated endpoint. This turns an authenticated SSRF primitive into a persistent unauthenticated SSRF gadget. Once the malicious hash entry exists, any external user can request `/image/<hash>.png` and cause the PMS or Tautulli host to fetch an arbitrary attacker-chosen URL. Version 2.17.1 patches the issue.

Title
Local Deep Research: HTML Injection via Unescaped User Input in PDF Export (`pdf_service.py:_markdown_to_html`)
Summary
Local Deep Research is an AI-powered research assistant for deep, iterative research. Prior to 1.6.0, PDFService._markdown_to_html() constructs an HTML document by interpolating user-controlled values — specifically title (sourced from research.title or research.query) and metadata key-value pairs — directly into an f-string without any HTML escaping. An authenticated attacker can craft a research query containing HTML special characters to inject arbitrary HTML tags into the document processed by WeasyPrint during PDF export. This injection can be chained to trigger a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), bypassing the application's existing SSRF defenses in ssrf_validator.py. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.6.0.

Title
ssrfcheck: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) and Incomplete List of Disallowed Inputs
Summary
ssrfcheck is a library that checks if a string contains a potential SSRF attack. In 1.3.0 and earlier, ssrfcheck fails to block Server-Side Request Forgery attacks when the target private IP address is encoded as an IPv4-mapped IPv6 address (e.g. http://[::ffff:127.0.0.1]/). The WHATWG URL parser built into Node.js silently normalizes the IPv4 notation inside the brackets to compressed hex form ([::ffff:7f00:1]) before the library's private-IP regex ever runs. The regex was written to match dot-notation only and therefore never matches any real input — all seven IANA private IPv4 ranges, including the AWS/GCP/Azure metadata address 169.254.169.254, are bypassed. Any application using isSSRFSafeURL() to guard HTTP requests made with user-supplied URLs is fully exposed to SSRF.

CVE-2026-43910 (GCVE-0-2026-43910)

Title
Appium java-client Allows Network Pivot via Unvalidated directConnect Redirect in AppiumCommandExecutor
Summary
Appium Java Client is the Java language binding for writing Appium tests that conform to the W3C WebDriver protocol. From 8.2.1 until 10.1.1, when directConnect(true) is enabled, AppiumCommandExecutor.setDirectConnect() reads the directConnectHost, directConnectPort, and directConnectPath fields from the server's NEW_SESSION response and rebuilds the client's server URL from them, validating only that the protocol is https, with no host allowlist or IP validation; a rogue or compromised server can therefore redirect all subsequent session traffic to an arbitrary destination, enabling full interception of session traffic and a server-side request forgery pivot to internal hosts, including cloud metadata (IMDS) credential theft. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.1.1.

Title
Link Preview JS: vunerable to IPv6 and internal loopback attacks
Summary
Link Preview JS extracts web links information. Prior to 4.0.1, the library did not check for IPv6 loopback attacks. There was also a DNS attack, where an address could be resolved into an internal IP. This could cause internal data leaks. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.0.1.

CAPEC-664: Server Side Request Forgery

An adversary exploits improper input validation by submitting maliciously crafted input to a target application running on a server, with the goal of forcing the server to make a request either to itself, to web services running in the server’s internal network, or to external third parties. If successful, the adversary’s request will be made with the server’s privilege level, bypassing its authentication controls. This ultimately allows the adversary to access sensitive data, execute commands on the server’s network, and make external requests with the stolen identity of the server. Server Side Request Forgery attacks differ from Cross Site Request Forgery attacks in that they target the server itself, whereas CSRF attacks exploit an insecure user authentication mechanism to perform unauthorized actions on the user's behalf.
