A logic issue was addressed with improved state management. This issue is fixed in iOS 12.4, macOS Mojave 10.14.6, tvOS 12.4, watchOS 5.3, Safari 12.1.2, iTunes for Windows 12.9.6, iCloud for Windows 7.13, iCloud for Windows 10.6. Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to universal cross site scripting. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Apple Safari. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.The specific flaw exists within the operationPutByValOptimize function. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of the current process. Apple Safari is a web browser that is the default browser included with the Mac OS X and iOS operating systems. Apple iOS is an operating system developed for mobile devices.
