Summary
SSA-316383: NumberJack Vulnerability in LOGO! CMR and SIMATIC RTU 3000 devices

Notes

Summary
A vulnerability has been identified in the underlying TCP/IP stack of LOGO! CMR and SIMATIC RTU 3000 devices. It could allow an attacker with network access to the LAN interface of an affected device to hijack an ongoing connection or spoof a new one. The WAN interface, however, is not affected. Siemens has released updates for the affected products and recommends to update to the latest versions.
General Recommendations
As a general security measure, Siemens strongly recommends to protect network access to devices with appropriate mechanisms. In order to operate the devices in a protected IT environment, Siemens recommends to configure the environment according to Siemens' operational guidelines for Industrial Security (Download: https://www.siemens.com/cert/operational-guidelines-industrial-security), and to follow the recommendations in the product manuals. Additional information on Industrial Security by Siemens can be found at: https://www.siemens.com/industrialsecurity
