MailCore是由MailCore团队开发维护的一个用于处理电子邮件协议IMAP和SMTP的框架。MailCore2是MailCore的下一代产品。LibEtPan是其中的一个为不同类型的邮件访问提供支持的邮件库，MIMEhandlingcomponent是其中的组件。

MailCore和MailCore2中使用的LibEtPan 1.8之前的版本中的MIME处理组件的low-level/imf/mailimf.c文件存在拒绝服务漏洞。攻击者可利用该漏洞造成拒绝服务（崩溃）。
