Title
ALSA: firewire-motu: add bounds check in put_user loop for DSP events
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: firewire-motu: add bounds check in put_user loop for DSP events
In the DSP event handling code, a put_user() loop copies event data.
When the user buffer size is not aligned to 4 bytes, it could overwrite
beyond the buffer boundary.
Fix by adding a bounds check before put_user().

No race or condition outside the attacker\u0027s control is required.\nPR:L - No capability or authentication check exists in the hwdep path; the attacker only needs ordinary user access to the sound device, commonly granted through an active-seat ACL or audio-group membership.\nUI:N - The attacker can open the hwdep and PCM devices, start streaming, and issue the malformed read without action by another user.\nS:U - The overwrite affects memory associated with the local consuming process and does not cross a VM, IOMMU, container, or other security-authority boundary.\nC:N - The vulnerable operation only writes an initialized DSP event to userspace; it performs no out-of-bounds read and provides no kernel-memory disclosure primitive.\nI:H - The loop can write a complete 32-bit, device-influenced event when only one to three bytes remain, corrupting adjacent userspace control data. Under the required higher-severity treatment for an out-of-bounds write, integrity impact is High.\nA:H - The adjacent-memory corruption can terminate the consuming process or a critical audio or control service and can be triggered repeatedly. Under the required higher-severity treatment for any crash, availability impact is High."
