ftrace: Also allocate and copy hash for reading of filter files
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ftrace: Also allocate and copy hash for reading of filter files
Currently the reader of set_ftrace_filter and set_ftrace_notrace just adds
the pointer to the global tracer hash to its iterator. Unlike the writer
that allocates a copy of the hash, the reader keeps the pointer to the
filter hashes. This is problematic because this pointer is static across
function calls that release the locks that can update the global tracer
hashes. This can cause UAF and similar bugs.
Allocate and copy the hash for reading the filter files like it is done
for the writers. This not only fixes UAF bugs, but also makes the code a
bit simpler as it doesn't have to differentiate when to free the
iterator's hash between writers and readers.

No VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.\nC:H - After the hash is freed and reallocated, ftrace_lookup_ip() reads an attacker-controlled size_bits and buckets pointer and chases hlist entries, yielding an arbitrary kernel-memory read primitive plus a per-record oracle leaking whether attacker-chosen addresses hold matching values.\nI:H - The dangling ftrace_hash can be reclaimed and shaped via heap spraying, and the related seq_open()-failure path frees the live global filter hash outright, leaving ops-\u003efunc_hash-\u003efilter_hash dangling for later add_hash_entry()/ftrace_hash_clear() operations and for the function-tracer hot path \u2014 giving controlled writes into a reallocated object and a route to control-flow hijack.\nA:H - Dereferencing the freed ftrace_hash (reading -\u003ecount, -\u003esize_bits and indexing -\u003ebuckets) reliably faults or corrupts the slab, producing a kernel oops or panic. The reporters observed exactly such UAF crashes with KASAN."
