Details

oFono AT CMGR Command Uninitialized Variable Information Disclosure Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows local attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of oFono. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute code on the target modem in order to exploit this vulnerability.

The specific flaw exists within the parsing of responses from AT+CMGR commands. The issue results from the lack of proper initialization of memory prior to accessing it. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code in the context of root. Was ZDI-CAN-23309.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

leds: led-class: Only Add LED to leds_list when it is fully ready

Before this change the LED was added to leds_list before led_init_core() gets called adding it the list before led_classdev.set_brightness_work gets initialized.

This leaves a window where led_trigger_register() of a LED's default trigger will call led_trigger_set() which calls led_set_brightness() which in turn will end up queueing the uninitialized led_classdev.set_brightness_work.

This race gets hit by the lenovo-thinkpad-t14s EC driver which registers 2 LEDs with a default trigger provided by snd_ctl_led.ko in quick succession. The first led_classdev_register() causes an async modprobe of snd_ctl_led to run and that async modprobe manages to exactly hit the window where the second LED is on the leds_list without led_init_core() being called for it, resulting in:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ptp: ocp: Limit signal/freq counts in summary output functions

The debugfs summary output could access uninitialized elements in the freq_in[] and signal_out[] arrays, causing NULL pointer dereferences and triggering a kernel Oops (page_fault_oops). This patch adds u8 fields (nr_freq_in, nr_signal_out) to track the number of initialized elements, with a maximum of 4 per array. The summary output functions are updated to respect these limits, preventing out-of-bounds access and ensuring safe array handling.

Widen the label variables because the change confuses GCC about max length of the strings.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net: fix uninit-value in caif_seqpkt_sendmsg

When nr_segs equal to zero in iovec_from_user, the object msg->msg_iter.iov is uninit stack memory in caif_seqpkt_sendmsg which is defined in ___sys_sendmsg. So we cann't just judge msg->msg_iter.iov->base directlly. We can use nr_segs to judge msg in caif_seqpkt_sendmsg whether has data buffers.
