AppleEFIRuntime in Apple OS X before 10.12 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code in a privileged context or cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference) via a crafted app. Supplementary information : CWE Vulnerability type by CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference (NULL Pointer dereference ) Has been identified. Apple Mac OS X is prone to multiple security vulnerabilities. Attackers can exploit these issues to execute arbitrary code, gain sensitive information, cause denial-of-service conditions, bypass security restrictions, and perform unauthorized actions. This may aid in other attacks. These issues are fixed in: Apple macOS 10.12. AppleEFIRuntime is one of the components used to display BIOS initialization in the EFI environment
