Stack-based buffer overflow in Unitronics VisiLogic OPLC IDE before 9.8.30 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted filename field in a ZIP archive in a vlp file. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.The specific flaw exists within parsing of a vlp file, which uses the zip file format. The software fails to validate the length of the filename field within the file before copying it to a stack buffer. This vulnerability can be leveraged by an attacker to achieve code execution within the context of the process. Unitronics VisiLogic OPLC IDE is a set of human machine interface (HMI) and PLC application programming environments for Vision and SAMBA series controllers from Unitronics, Israel. Unitronics VisiLogic is prone to a stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to adequately bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer.
