Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: Adobe Acrobat Reader security update
Notes
Topic
Updated acroread packages that fix a security issue are now available.
This update has been rated as having critical security impact by the Red
Hat Security Response Team.
Details
The Adobe Acrobat Reader allows users to view and print documents in
portable document format (PDF).
A buffer overflow bug has been found in Adobe Acrobat Reader. It is
possible to execute arbitrary code on a victim's machine if the victim
opens a malicious PDF file. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures
project has assigned the name CAN-2005-2470 to this issue.
All users of Acrobat Reader are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which contain Acrobat Reader version 7.0.1 and are not vulnerable
to this issue.

Only those\nRPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are\nnot installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you\ncan also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains the\ndesired RPMs.\n\nPlease note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many\npeople find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,\nlaunch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:\n\nup2date\n\nThis will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate\nRPMs being upgraded on your system.",
