Summary
Red Hat Bug Fix Advisory: perl bug fix update
Notes
Topic
Updated perl packages that fix various bugs are now available.
Details
Perl is a high-level programming language with roots in C, sed, awk and
shell scripting.
This update addresses the following issues:
- perl operation in UTF-8 enabled locales
- handling an alarm signal while a waitpid() is in progress
- the default length of an ioctl 3rd argument when no length bitfield is
specified
- some generated perl headers are not require-able by perl programs
- fixes for tell() ftell(3) wrapper for files opened in append mode
All users of perl are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
