Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: openoffice.org security update
Notes
Topic
Updated OpenOffice packages that fix a vulnerability in neon exploitable by
a malicious DAV server are now available.
Details
OpenOffice.org is an Open Source, community-developed, multi-platform
office productivity suite. OpenOffice internally uses inbuilt code
from neon, an HTTP and WebDAV client library.
Versions of the neon client library up to and including 0.24.4 have been
found to contain a number of format string bugs. An attacker could create
a malicious WebDAV server in such a way as to allow arbitrary code
execution on the client should a user connect to it using OpenOffice. The
Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned
the name CAN-2004-0179 to this issue.
Users of OpenOffice are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
contain a patch correcting this issue.

Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: cadaver security update
Notes
Topic
An updated cadaver package that fixes a vulnerability in neon exploitable
by a malicious DAV server is now available.
Details
cadaver is a command-line WebDAV client that uses inbuilt code from neon,
an HTTP and WebDAV client library.
Versions of the neon client library up to and including 0.24.4 have been
found to contain a number of format string bugs. An attacker could create
a malicious WebDAV server in such a way as to allow arbitrary code
execution on the client should a user connect to it using cadaver. The
Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned
the name CAN-2004-0179 to this issue.
Users of cadaver are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
contains a patch correcting this issue.

Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: : Updated cadaver package fixes security vulnerability in neon
Notes

Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: : Updated Subversion packages fix security vulnerability in neon
Notes
Topic
Updated Subversion packages that fix a vulnerability in neon, exploitable by
a malicious DAV server, are now available.
Details
Subversion is a concurrent version control system that uses inbuilt code
from neon, an HTTP and WebDAV client library.
Versions of the neon client library up to and including 0.24.4 have been
found to contain a number of format string bugs. An attacker could create
a malicious WebDAV server in such a way as to allow arbitrary code
execution on the client should a user connect to it using subversion. The
Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned
the name CAN-2004-0179 to this issue.
This update includes a patch to correct this issue, and an upgrade to
Subversion 0.27.0, the last version which is compatible with the database
schema used by Subversion 0.17.0. Users of Subversion are advised to
upgrade to these updated packages.

Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: : Updated OpenOffice packages fix security vulnerability in neon
Notes

Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: : Updated cadaver package fixes security vulnerability in neon
Notes

Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: : Updated OpenOffice packages fix security vulnerability in neon
Notes

The latest version of\nup2date is available from the Red Hat FTP site and may also be\ndownloaded directly from the RHN website:\n\nhttps://rhn.redhat.com/help/latest-up2date.pxt", "product_ids": [ "Red Hat Linux 9" ], "restart_required": { "category": "none" }, "url": "https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2004:158" } ], "threats": [ { "category": "impact", "details": "Important" } ], "title": "security flaw" } ] }
