Title
uutils coreutils id Incorrect Access-Control Decisions via Misrepresented Group Membership
Summary
The id utility in uutils coreutils miscalculates the groups= section of its output. The implementation uses a user's real GID instead of their effective GID to compute the group list, leading to potentially divergent output compared to GNU coreutils. Because many scripts and automated processes rely on the output of id to make security-critical access-control or permission decisions, this discrepancy can lead to unauthorized access or security misconfigurations.

Title
Directus has a TUS Upload Authorization Bypass Allows Arbitrary File Overwrite
Summary
Directus is a real-time API and App dashboard for managing SQL database content. Prior to 11.16.1, Directus' TUS resumable upload endpoint (/files/tus) allows any authenticated user with basic file upload permissions to overwrite arbitrary existing files by UUID. The TUS controller performs only collection-level authorization checks, verifying the user has some permission on directus_files, but never validates item-level access to the specific file being replaced. As a result, row-level permission rules (e.g., "users can only update their own files") are completely bypassed via the TUS path while being correctly enforced on the standard REST upload path. This vulnerability is fixed in 11.16.1.

Title
Directus: Authenticated Users Can Extract Concealed Fields via Aggregate Queries
Summary
Directus is a real-time API and App dashboard for managing SQL database content. Prior to 11.17.0, aggregate functions (min, max) applied to fields with the conceal special type incorrectly return raw database values instead of the masked placeholder. When combined with groupBy, any authenticated user with read access to the affected collection can extract concealed field values, including static API tokens and two-factor authentication secrets from directus_users. This vulnerability is fixed in 11.17.0.

Title
pyLoad has an incomplete fix for CVE-2026-33509: unprotected storage_folder enables arbitrary file write to Flask session store and code execution
Summary
pyLoad is a free and open-source download manager written in Python. The fix for CVE-2026-33509 added an ADMIN_ONLY_OPTIONS set to block non-admin users from modifying security-critical config options. The storage_folder option is not in this set and passes the existing path restriction because the Flask session directory is outside both PKGDIR and userdir. A user with SETTINGS and ADD permissions can redirect downloads to the Flask filesystem session store, plant a malicious pickle payload as a predictable session file, and trigger arbitrary code execution when any HTTP request arrives with the corresponding session cookie. This vulnerability is fixed with commit c4cf995a2803bdbe388addfc2b0f323277efc0e1.

Title
alf.io has an Authenticated RCE via Extension Script Sandbox Escape
Summary
alf.io is an open source ticket reservation system for conferences, trade shows, workshops, and meetups. Prior to version 2.0-M5-2606, a sandbox escape vulnerability in the alf.io extension script engine allows an authenticated administrator to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the server. The extension system is intended to execute restricted JavaScript in a sandboxed Rhino environment; however, a combination of an unguarded injected Java object (`returnClass`) and an incomplete AST blocklist allows the sandbox to be fully escaped using Java reflection without triggering any validation errors. Version 2.0-M5-2606 patches the issue.

Title
changedetection.io has an Authentication Bypass via Decorator Ordering
Summary
changedetection.io is a free open source web page change detection tool. Prior to 0.54.8, the @login_optionally_required decorator is placed before (outer to) @blueprint.route() instead of after it. In Flask, @route() must be the outermost decorator because it registers the function it receives. When the order is reversed, @route() registers the original undecorated function, and the auth wrapper is never in the call chain. This silently disables authentication on these routes. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.54.8.

Title
Pi-hole FTL: CLI API sessions can import Teleporter archives and modify configuration
Summary
FTLDNS (pihole-FTL) provides an interactive API and also generates statistics for Pi-hole's Web interface. From 6.0 to before 6.6, Pi-hole FTL supports a CLI password feature (webserver.api.cli_pw) that creates “CLI” API sessions intended to be read-only for configuration changes. While /api/config correctly blocks CLI sessions from mutating configuration, /api/teleporter allowed Teleporter imports for CLI sessions, enabling a CLI-scoped session to overwrite configuration via a Teleporter archive (authorization bypass). This vulnerability is fixed in 6.6.

Mitigation

Phase: Architecture and Design

Description:

  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation

Phase: Architecture and Design

Description:

  • Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].
Mitigation ID: MIT-4.4

Phase: Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

Description:

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation

Phase: Architecture and Design

Description:

  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation

Phases: System Configuration, Installation

Description:

  • Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.
