Title
FreeRDP: Smartcard NDR Alignment Padding Triggers Reachable WINPR_ASSERT Abort (Client DoS)
Summary
FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. Prior to version 3.23.0, a missing bounds check in `smartcard_unpack_read_size_align()` (`libfreerdp/utils/smartcard_pack.c:1703`) allows a malicious RDP server to crash the FreeRDP client via a reachable `WINPR_ASSERT` → `abort()`. The crash occurs in upstream builds where `WITH_VERBOSE_WINPR_ASSERT=ON` (default in FreeRDP 3.22.0 / current WinPR CMake defaults). Smartcard redirection must be explicitly enabled by the user (e.g., `xfreerdp /smartcard`; `/smartcard-logon` implies `/smartcard`). Version 3.23.0 fixes the issue.

Title
nghttp2 Denial of service: Assertion failure due to the missing state validation
Summary
nghttp2 is an implementation of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol version 2 in C. Prior to version 1.68.1, the nghttp2 library stops reading the incoming data when user facing public API `nghttp2_session_terminate_session` or `nghttp2_session_terminate_session2` is called by the application. They might be called internally by the library when it detects the situation that is subject to connection error. Due to the missing internal state validation, the library keeps reading the rest of the data after one of those APIs is called. Then receiving a malformed frame that causes FRAME_SIZE_ERROR causes assertion failure. nghttp2 v1.68.1 adds missing state validation to avoid assertion failure. No known workarounds are available.

psd-tools: Compression module has unguarded zlib decompression, missing dimension validation, and hardening gaps
Summary
psd-tools is a Python package for working with Adobe Photoshop PSD files. Prior to version 1.12.2, when a PSD file contains malformed RLE-compressed image data (e.g. a literal run that extends past the expected row size), decode_rle() raises ValueError which propagated all the way to the user, crashing psd.composite() and psd-tools export. decompress() already had a fallback that replaces failed channels with black pixels when result is None, but it never triggered because the ValueError from decode_rle() was not caught. The fix in version 1.12.2 wraps the decode_rle() call in a try/except so the existing fallback handles the error gracefully.

Title
CocoaMQTT: Denial of Service via Reachable Assertion in `PUBLISH` Packet Parsing
Summary
CocoaMQTT is a MQTT 5.0 client library for iOS and macOS written in Swift. Prior to version 2.2.2, a vulnerability exists in the packet parsing logic of CocoaMQTT that allows an attacker (or a compromised/malicious MQTT broker) to remotely crash the host iOS/macOS/tvOS application. If an attacker publishes the 4-byte malformed payload to a shared topic with the RETAIN flag set to true, the MQTT broker will persist the payload. Any time a vulnerable client connects and subscribes to that topic, the broker will automatically push the malformed packet. The app will instantly crash in the background before the user can even interact with it. This effectively "bricks" the mobile application (a persistent DoS) until the retained message is manually wiped from the broker database. This issue has been patched in version 2.2.2.

Authenticated query containing a TKEY record may cause named to terminate unexpectedly

Under certain conditions, `named` may crash when processing a correctly signed query containing a TKEY record. The affected code can only be reached if an incoming request has a valid transaction signature (TSIG) from a key declared in the `named` configuration.
This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.20.0 through 9.20.20, 9.21.0 through 9.21.19, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.20-S1.
BIND 9 versions 9.18.0 through 9.18.46 and 9.18.11-S1 through 9.18.46-S1 are NOT affected.

FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. Prior to version 3.24.2, an unvalidated auth_length field read from the network triggers a WINPR_ASSERT() failure in rts_read_auth_verifier_no_checks(), causing any FreeRDP client connecting through a malicious RDP Gateway to crash with SIGABRT. FreeRDP: DoS via WINPR_ASSERT in IMA ADPCM audio decoder (dsp.c:331)
Summary
FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. Prior to version 3.24.2, a malicious RDP server can crash the FreeRDP client by sending audio data in IMA ADPCM format with an invalid initial step index value (>= 89). The unvalidated step index is read directly from the network and used to index into a 89-entry lookup table, triggering a WINPR_ASSERT() failure and process abort via SIGABRT. This affects any FreeRDP client that has audio redirection (RDPSND) enabled, which is the default configuration. This issue has been patched in version 3.24.2.

The unvalidated step index is read directly from the network and used to index into a 89-entry lookup table, triggering a WINPR_ASSERT() failure and process abort via SIGABRT. This affects any FreeRDP client that has audio redirection (RDPSND) enabled, which is the default configuration. This issue has been patched in version 3.24.2."

Title
network-libp2p: Peer can crash the node by opening discovery protocol substream twice
Summary
Nimiq's network-libp2p is a Nimiq network implementation based on libp2p. Prior to version 1.3.0, `network-libp2p` discovery uses a libp2p `ConnectionHandler` state machine. the handler assumes there is at most one inbound and one outbound discovery substream per connection. if a remote peer opens/negotiate the discovery protocol substream a second time on the same connection, the handler hits a `panic!(\"Inbound already connected\")` / `panic!(\"Outbound already connected\")` path instead of failing closed. This causes a remote crash of the networking task (swarm), taking the node's p2p networking offline until restart. The patch for this vulnerability is formally released as part of v1.3.0. No known workarounds are available.
