GHSA-MCP4-W22Q-6Q4H

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-05-19 09:34 – Updated: 2026-05-12 12:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

erspan: make sure erspan_base_hdr is present in skb->head

syzbot reported a problem in ip6erspan_rcv() [1]

Issue is that ip6erspan_rcv() (and erspan_rcv()) no longer make sure erspan_base_hdr is present in skb linear part (skb->head) before getting @ver field from it.

Add the missing pskb_may_pull() calls.

v2: Reload iph pointer in erspan_rcv() after pskb_may_pull() because skb->head might have changed.

GHSA-MCQ3-239H-FC92

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-05-09 09:33 – Updated: 2025-11-12 21:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

pds_core: handle unsupported PDS_CORE_CMD_FW_CONTROL result

If the FW doesn't support the PDS_CORE_CMD_FW_CONTROL command the driver might at the least print garbage and at the worst crash when the user runs the "devlink dev info" devlink command.

This happens because the stack variable fw_list is not 0 initialized which results in fw_list.num_fw_slots being a garbage value from the stack. Then the driver tries to access fw_list.fw_names[i] with i >= ARRAY_SIZE and runs off the end of the array.

Fix this by initializing the fw_list and by not failing completely if the devcmd fails because other useful information is printed via devlink dev info even if the devcmd fails.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-02-27 03:34 – Updated: 2026-07-14 15:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

mptcp: consolidate suboption status

MPTCP maintains the received sub-options status is the bitmask carrying the received suboptions and in several bitfields carrying per suboption additional info.

Zeroing the bitmask before parsing is not enough to ensure a consistent status, and the MPTCP code has to additionally clear some bitfiled depending on the actually parsed suboption.

The above schema is fragile, and syzbot managed to trigger a path where a relevant bitfield is not cleared/initialized:

GHSA-MF47-W2F7-GC7F

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-11-19 03:31 – Updated: 2025-11-04 00:32
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

btrfs: reinitialize delayed ref list after deleting it from the list

At insert_delayed_ref() if we need to update the action of an existing ref to BTRFS_DROP_DELAYED_REF, we delete the ref from its ref head's ref_add_list using list_del(), which leaves the ref's add_list member not reinitialized, as list_del() sets the next and prev members of the list to LIST_POISON1 and LIST_POISON2, respectively.

If later we end up calling drop_delayed_ref() against the ref, which can happen during merging or when destroying delayed refs due to a transaction abort, we can trigger a crash since at drop_delayed_ref() we call list_empty() against the ref's add_list, which returns false since the list was not reinitialized after the list_del() and as a consequence we call list_del() again at drop_delayed_ref(). This results in an invalid list access since the next and prev members are set to poison pointers, resulting in a splat if CONFIG_LIST_HARDENED and CONFIG_DEBUG_LIST are set or invalid poison pointer dereferences otherwise.

So fix this by deleting from the list with list_del_init() instead.

GHSA-MG69-HWRW-4W98

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-03-25 12:30 – Updated: 2026-04-24 21:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/amdgpu: Fix error handling in slot reset

If the device has not recovered after slot reset is called, it goes to out label for error handling. There it could make decision based on uninitialized hive pointer and could result in accessing an uninitialized list.

Initialize the list and hive properly so that it handles the error situation and also releases the reset domain lock which is acquired during error_detected callback.

Mitigation
Implementation

Explicitly initialize the resource before use. If this is performed through an API function or standard procedure, follow all required steps.

Mitigation
Implementation

Pay close attention to complex conditionals that affect initialization, since some branches might not perform the initialization.

Mitigation
Implementation

Avoid race conditions (CWE-362) during initialization routines.

Mitigation
Build and Compilation

Run or compile the product with settings that generate warnings about uninitialized variables or data.

No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
