Summary
Infinite certificate chain depth results in OctoRPKI running forever
Details

OctoRPKI (github.com/cloudflare/cfrpki/cmd/octorpki) does not limit the depth of a certificate chain, allowing for a CA to create children in an ad-hoc fashion, thereby making tree traversal never end.

GHSA-G63V-C4X5-2G6V

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-11-19 18:31 – Updated: 2025-11-04 00:32
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: fix 6 GHz scan construction

If more than 255 colocated APs exist for the set of all APs found during 2.4/5 GHz scanning, then the 6 GHz scan construction will loop forever since the loop variable has type u8, which can never reach the number found when that's bigger than 255, and is stored in a u32 variable. Also move it into the loops to have a smaller scope.

Using a u32 there is fine, we limit the number of APs in the scan list and each has a limit on the number of RNR entries due to the frame size. With a limit of 1000 scan results, a frame size upper bound of 4096 (really it's more like ~2300) and a TBTT entry size of at least 11, we get an upper bound for the number of ~372k, well in the bounds of a u32.

In Wireshark 2.2.0 to 2.2.5 and 2.0.0 to 2.0.11, the SIGCOMP dissector could go into an infinite loop, triggered by packet injection or a malformed capture file. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-sigcomp.c by correcting a memory-size check.

Summary
OpenStack Swift: s3api middleware enters an infinite loop when processing a truncated aws-chunked PUT request body
Details

In OpenStack Swift before 2.36.2 and 2.37.2, s3api middleware enters an infinite loop when processing a truncated aws-chunked PUT request body. The StreamingInput class repeatedly appends an empty buffer and re-reads, causing the proxy-server worker handling the request to become permanently unresponsive with increasing CPU and memory consumption. An authenticated attacker can systematically exhaust all proxy-server workers, resulting in denial of service. The defect was introduced in Swift 2.36.0.

Details

An issue was discovered in Xen through 4.10.x allowing x86 HVM guest OS users to cause a denial of service (host OS infinite loop) in situations where a QEMU device model attempts to make invalid transitions between states of a request.

GHSA-G867-7843-WF8Q

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-07-23 16:37 – Updated: 2026-07-23 16:37
VLAI
Summary
pypdf: Possible infinite loop for not terminated inline images (ASCII85 and ASCIIHex filter)
Details

Impact

An attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires parsing the content stream of a page with a not terminated inline image, as done when extracting the page text for example. It only affects the ASCII85 and ASCIIHex filters.

Patches

This has been fixed in pypdf==6.14.2.

Workarounds

If you cannot upgrade yet, consider applying the changes from PR #3892.
