The install_special_mapping function in mm/mmap.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.37-rc6 does not make an expected security_file_mmap function call, which allows local users to bypass intended mmap_min_addr restrictions and possibly conduct NULL pointer dereference attacks via a crafted assembly-language application.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

io_uring: check for non-NULL file pointer in io_file_can_poll()

In earlier kernels, it was possible to trigger a NULL pointer dereference off the forced async preparation path, if no file had been assigned. The trace leading to that looks as follows:

because the request is marked forced ASYNC and has a bad file fd, and hence takes the forced async prep path.

Current kernels with the request async prep cleaned up can no longer hit this issue, but for ease of backporting, let's add this safety check in here too as it really doesn't hurt. For both cases, this will inevitably end with a CQE posted with -EBADF.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

xen/privcmd: fix error exit of privcmd_ioctl_dm_op()

The error exit of privcmd_ioctl_dm_op() is calling unlock_pages() potentially with pages being NULL, leading to a NULL dereference.

Additionally lock_pages() doesn't check for pin_user_pages_fast() having been completely successful, resulting in potentially not locking all pages into memory. This could result in sporadic failures when using the related memory in user mode.

Fix all of that by calling unlock_pages() always with the real number of pinned pages, which will be zero in case pages being NULL, and by checking the number of pages pinned by pin_user_pages_fast() matching the expected number of pages.
