GHSA-346Q-RM44-2J2V
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2023-09-13 18:31 – Updated: 2024-01-25 18:30A vulnerability in the Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) feature of Cisco IOS XR Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device.
This vulnerability is due to incorrect processing of invalid continuity check messages (CCMs). An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted CCMs to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the CFM service to crash when a user displays information about maintenance end points (MEPs) for peer MEPs on an affected device.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-06-19 15:30 – Updated: 2024-10-31 15:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mptcp: never allow the PM to close a listener subflow
Currently, when deleting an endpoint the netlink PM treverses all the local MPTCP sockets, regardless of their status.
If an MPTCP listener socket is bound to the IP matching the delete endpoint, the listener TCP socket will be closed. That is unexpected, the PM should only affect data subflows.
Additionally, syzbot was able to trigger a NULL ptr dereference due to the above:

Mitigation MIT-56
For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].
Mitigation
Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.
Mitigation
Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.
Mitigation
Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.
Mitigation
Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
