Details

Quick emulator (Qemu) built with the Cirrus CLGD 54xx VGA Emulator support is vulnerable to a divide by zero issue. It could occur while copying VGA data when cirrus graphics mode was set to be VGA. A privileged user inside guest could use this flaw to crash the Qemu process instance on the host, resulting in DoS.

A flaw was found in ImageMagick in MagickCore/gem-private.h. An attacker who submits a crafted file that is processed by ImageMagick could trigger undefined behavior in the form of values outside the range of type unsigned char or division by zero. This would most likely lead to an impact to application availability, but could potentially cause other problems related to undefined behavior. This flaw affects ImageMagick versions prior to 7.0.9-0.

Impact

An attacker can trigger a division by 0 in tf.raw_ops.QuantizedMul:

min_y = tf.constant(0.0)

tf.raw_ops.QuantizedMul(x=x, y=y, min_x=min_x, max_x=max_x, min_y=min_y, max_y=max_y)

This is because the implementation does a division by a quantity that is controlled by the caller:

Patches

We have patched the issue in GitHub commit a1b11d2fdd1e51bfe18bb1ede804f60abfa92da6.

The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.5.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.4.2, TensorFlow 2.3.3, TensorFlow 2.2.3 and TensorFlow 2.1.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.

FPE in convolutions with zero size filters

Impact

The implementations for convolution operators trigger a division by 0 if passed empty filter tensor arguments.

Patches

We have patched the issue in GitHub commit f2c3931113eaafe9ef558faaddd48e00a6606235.

The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.7.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.6.1, TensorFlow 2.5.2, and TensorFlow 2.4.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.
