Title
Local Privilege Escalation in servereye client (sensorhub)
Summary
The servereye client (also known as sensorhub, technically ClientAgentContainerService) versions 20.15 and earlier are vulnerable to Local Privilege Escalation. The high-privileged service SE3Recovery (EmergencyRecoveryService.exe), running as SYSTEM, periodically monitors the directory %ProgramData%\ServerEye3\update\ for a trigger file named "update_available". Due to insufficient access restrictions on this directory, a local standard user can create the trigger file and provide a path to a directory containing malicious JSON instructions. The service subsequently executes the utility UpdaterAction.exe with SYSTEM privileges, which parses the instructions and performs an unvalidated file copy from a user-controlled source to a protected system destination (e.g., overwriting a service binary). This leads to full system compromise as the service automatically restarts the overwritten binary with SYSTEM privileges.

Title
AI Copilot – Content Generator <= 1.5.6 - Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation via Custom Workflow Route
Summary
The AI Copilot – Content Generator plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 1.5.6. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to create a new administrator-level user account and achieve full site takeover by saving and executing a malicious workflow containing a wp_create_user action node specifying role=administrator. This vulnerability is exploitable by unauthenticated attackers on any site where the [aiwu-form] shortcode or public chatbot is rendered on a frontend page, as the waic-nonce value is emitted into publicly accessible JavaScript (WAIC_DATA.waicNonce) on those pages, rendering the nonce check a non-functional authorization barrier.

Title
多说社会化评论框 <= 1.2 - Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation via api.php 'option'/'value' Parameters
Summary
The 多说社会化评论框 plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.2. The vulnerability exists due to a missing capability and nonce check on a directly web-accessible API endpoint, combined with a trivially forgeable HMAC-SHA1 signature keyed on an always-empty WordPress option, which allows the endpoint's `update_option` handler to pass attacker-controlled `option` and `value` parameters directly to WordPress's `update_option` function without any allowlist or sanitization. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update arbitrary WordPress options — such as setting `default_role` to `administrator` and enabling open registration — and subsequently register an account with full administrator privileges.

The vulnerability exists due to a missing capability and nonce check on a directly web-accessible API endpoint, combined with a trivially forgeable HMAC-SHA1 signature keyed on an always-empty WordPress option, which allows the endpoint\u0027s `update_option` handler to pass attacker-controlled `option` and `value` parameters directly to WordPress\u0027s `update_option` function without any allowlist or sanitization. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update arbitrary WordPress options \u2014 such as setting `default_role` to `administrator` and enabling open registration \u2014 and subsequently register an account with full administrator privileges."

Title
Eazy Plugin Manager <= 4.4.1 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Privilege Escalation via pos_get_option AJAX Action and admin/login REST Endpoint
Summary
The Eazy Plugin Manager – Powerful Plugin Management Solution for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 4.4.1. This is due to insufficient authorization on the `wp_ajax_pos_get_option` AJAX handler, which verifies only a nonce that is localized to every logged-in admin-area user via `admin_enqueue_scripts` — without any capability check — before returning the value of any arbitrary WordPress option via `get_option()`, combined with the `admin_login_endpoint_handler` REST endpoint (`GET /wp-json/epm/v1/admin/login`) being registered as publicly accessible and authenticating callers solely by a whirlpool hash of values stored in those same options. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to read the `site_url`, `connection_key`, and `remote_user_id` values stored in the `eazywp_connecting_info` and `eazywp_connection` options, compute the required `auth_key`, call the `admin/login` REST endpoint to obtain Administrator authentication cookies, and fully take over the site. Exploitation requires the plugin's remote connection feature to have been configured, as the `eazywp_connecting_info` and `eazywp_connection` options must be populated with valid credentials.

Title
Wholesale Market <= 2.2.2 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Privilege Escalation via 'role_required' Parameter
Summary
The Wholesale Market plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in versions up to, and including, 2.2.2 via the ced_wholesale_request_send AJAX action. The ced_wholesale_request_send_callback() handler only verifies a nonce (which is exposed to any authenticated user through wp_localize_script on the frontend) and that the caller has a positive user ID, then calls WP_User::add_role() with the client-supplied role_required POST parameter without restricting the value to an allowlist of wholesale roles. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to elevate their privileges to Administrator when the site administrator has enabled the 'Assigning requested role directly' option.

Title
Simple JWT Login <= 3.6.6 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Authentication Bypass to Privilege Escalation via 'payload' Parameter
Summary
The Simple JWT Login – Allows you to use JWT on REST endpoints. plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 3.6.6 via the `payload` parameter. The vulnerability exists because `AuthenticateService::generatePayload()` only overwrites JWT payload keys whose names appear in the admin-configured `jwt_payload` list — leaving any attacker-supplied identity claims such as `email`, `id`, or `username` intact and signed into the JWT with the site's HS256 secret. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to escalate their privileges to that of an Administrator by injecting a target administrator's email address into the `payload` parameter at the `/wp-json/simple-jwt-login/v1/auth` endpoint, then redeeming the resulting JWT at the `/autologin` endpoint to obtain a fully authenticated session as that administrator.

Title
Themehunk Login Registration <= 1.0.2 - Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation via 'role' Parameter
Summary
The Themehunk Login Registration plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in versions up to, and including, 1.0.2. This is due to the handle_frontend_register() function in the unauthenticated /thlogin/v1/register REST endpoint accepting a user-controlled 'role' parameter and validating it only against get_editable_roles() — which returns every defined editable site role, including 'editor' — before passing it to wp_insert_user(). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers, when public user registration is enabled, to create new accounts with the editor role.

Title
WP Grid Builder <= 2.3.3 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Privilege Escalation via 'key' Parameter
Summary
The WP Grid Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 2.3.3. This is due to missing authorization and meta key validation in the `update()` handler for the `/wp-json/wpgb/v2/metadata` REST endpoint. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to elevate their privileges to Administrator by updating their own `wp_capabilities` user meta with a crafted nested array payload.

Title
Digits: WordPress Mobile Number Signup and Login <= 9.1.0.5 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Privilege Escalation via 'digits_reg_userrole' Parameter
Summary
The Digits: WordPress Mobile Number Signup and Login plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 9.1.0.5. This is due to missing authorization and role validation in the `dig_update_wpwc_custom_fields()` function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to escalate their privileges to Administrator by submitting a forged `digits_reg_userrole` value during profile update, granted the site administrator has configured the built-in DIGITS User Role field.

Title
Easy Form Builder by WhiteStudio <= 4.0.11 - Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation to Administrator via Password Recovery REST Endpoint
Summary
The Easy Form Builder by WhiteStudio plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation to Administrator in versions up to, and including, 4.0.11 This is due to the password recovery flow using the publicly-visible session identifier ('sid') as the password reset token stored in wp_emsfb_temp_links, combined with a publicly-accessible nonce refresh endpoint (Emsfb/v1/nonce/refresh) that issues valid WordPress REST nonces to unauthenticated visitors. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to reset the password of any WordPress user — including administrators — by scraping the public sid from a published login form page, submitting a recovery request for any known user email via Emsfb/v1/forms/message/add, and then calling Emsfb/v1/forms/recovery/efb_set_password with the known sid to set an arbitrary new password and gain full administrator access.

Mitigation MIT-1
Architecture and Design Operation

Very carefully manage the setting, management, and handling of privileges. Explicitly manage trust zones in the software.

Mitigation MIT-48
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Separation of Privilege

Follow the principle of least privilege when assigning access rights to entities in a software system.

Mitigation MIT-49
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Separation of Privilege

Consider following the principle of separation of privilege. Require multiple conditions to be met before permitting access to a system resource.

CAPEC-122: Privilege Abuse

An adversary is able to exploit features of the target that should be reserved for privileged users or administrators but are exposed to use by lower or non-privileged accounts. Access to sensitive information and functionality must be controlled to ensure that only authorized users are able to access these resources.

CAPEC-233: Privilege Escalation
