CVE-2020-25638

Affected: hibernate-core

A flaw was found in hibernate-core in versions prior to and including 5.4.23.Final. A SQL injection in the implementation of the JPA Criteria API can permit unsanitized literals when a literal is used in the SQL comments of the query. This flaw could allow an attacker to access unauthorized information or possibly conduct further attacks. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity.

USN-6845-1 — libhibernate3-java vulnerability

Affected: Ubuntu:Pro:16.04:LTS: libhibernate3-java, Ubuntu:Pro:18.04:LTS: libhibernate3-java, Ubuntu:20.04:LTS: libhibernate3-java

It was discovered that Hibernate incorrectly handled certain inputs with
unsanitized literals. If a user or an automated system were tricked into
opening a specially crafted input file, a remote attacker could possibly use
this issue to obtain sensitive information.
