- CVEs with nessus.description==Beatrice Torracca and Evgeni Golov discovered a buffer overflow in mutt while expanding addresses when parsing email headers. An attacker could specially craft an email to cause mutt to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user invoking mutt.
Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
